About Cardiac Registry Support


Cardiac Registry Support has been family-owned and -operated since 2008. At Cardiac Registry Support, we ensure each abstractor is kept up-to-date on all new training in the constantly changing world of data abstraction, providing the most accurate results possible.

Our project team includes experienced cardiac registered nurses, physicians, RCIS, along with IT specialists and operations support staff which can work with your company to provide the highest quality services which are safe, efficient, and secure. With more than a decade in business, all our management staff have cardiac clinical backgrounds and we strive for a 97% or higher IRR. We can assure you of accuracy and quality results.

Key Cardiac Registry Support Project Team Members

Sue Mikle, RN
President

Sue founded Cardiac Registry Support in 2008 to help hospitals in need of assistance with their cardiac registries. As president, Sue is passionate about quality outcomes for clients and improvement to patient care. Sue has been a nurse for more than 35 years with 20 years of experience in cardiovascular services and quality assurance. Sue has more than 12 years of cardiac registry abstraction experience.

Betsy Castillo, RN
NCDR Account Manager

Betsy has been a RN for 30 years with focus in the CVICU and the Emergency Department. She joined Cardiac Registry Support in 2018, and with experience as a Nursing Supervisor, CV Coordinator and Cardiac Abstractor, she has advanced to an Account Manager. While still at her facility, she used her 5 years of experience in working with NCDR and STS, to obtain the C4 Certification for Chest Pain Accreditation. We are excited to have her as part of the Team.

Angela Ebel, RN MSN
STS Congenital Account Manager

A life-long healthcare advocate, Angela has served as an STS congenital abstractor for the past ten years, joining Cardiac Registry Support in 2014. As an STS congenital account leader, she is responsible for remote and on-site communication and collaboration with facility staff as well as managing reporting and quality assurance. To continually expand her depth of knowledge on the latest data abstraction regulations and distinctions, Angela annually attends the national STS AQO Convention. A graduate of Yale University, she is a recognized speaker, writer, and educator.

Sally Gray, RN BSN
NCDR Client Coordinator

Sally joined the Cardiac Registry Support team as an STS lead for Adult Cardiac. She holds a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from Walden University in accompaniment with more than 20 years of clinical and quality management experience in Cardiovascular ICU, Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab. Sally's cardiac registry experience includes abstraction, abstraction team oversight, quality assurance and database manager duties for NCDR Action, ICD, PCI, TVT, LAAO, STS-ACS, and ACC Chest Pain registries.

Samantha Hillman
STS Client Coordinator

Samantha joined the Cardiac Registry Support team as an STS Account Manager for Adult Cardiac in 2018. She holds a Baccalaureate and a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science. Samantha’s career focus has been on cardiopulmonary disease processes. With a background in cardiac rehab and cardiovascular research, Samantha joined the cardiovascular outcomes world eight years ago. Samantha’s cardiac registry experience includes STS-ACS, NCDR /ACC registries, NYS CSRS, PCIRS, and ACC Accreditation. She also carries over five years of experience in registry and quality outcomes management.

Kathy Larson, RHIT BS
STS Adult & Thoracic Account Manager

Kathy joined Cardiac Registry Support in July 2015. She has eight years of experience abstracting STS adult cardiac as well as ten years with NCDR/ACC, CathPCI, Action, and ICD. Kathy is responsible for managing quarterly facility reporting, quality assurance audits, and maintaining communication with facility staff. She also provides abstraction services for the STS adult cardiac and general thoracic registries. She has 19 years of experience working in healthcare information technology and is a certified EPIC application administrator.

Ted Mikle, BS
Chief Financial Officer

Ted has 40 years of accounting and business management experience. Ted has worked with Cardiac Registry Support since its creation in 2008. As the Chief Financial Officer, Ted’s responsibilities include financial management, marketing and assisting with the human resource department.

Barb Sanders, RN
VP of Operations

Barb, a life-long Floridian, has been a nurse for 28 years with a primary clinical focus on cardiovascular services. She also has experience in thoracic, vascular, and oncology. In 2005 she decided to step away from the bedside and work in cardiac registries, beginning with STS™, ICD, and Cath/PCI. As more registries were developed, she included those in her repertoire, such as ACTION, PVI, AFIB, TAVR, LAAO, GWTG-Stroke, and GWTG-CAD. Barb recently joined Cardiac Registry Support as an Account Manager and STS Lead for Adult Cardiac. She looks forward to bringing her experience to the team.

Chris Stocker, BIS
IT Manager & Security Officer

A crucial member of our team, Chris is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of IT equipment and software as well as tech support. As Security Officer, Chris monitors physical security and is accountable for ensuring appropriate controls are in place. He joined Cardiac Registry Support in 2016 and earned a degree from the Minnesota School of Business. Chris has worked in IT Services for more than ten years.

Lindsey Thompson, CMA (AAMA)
Office Coordinator

As the Office Coordinator, Lindsey’s responsibilities include providing HR and administrative services. She supports managers and employees through a wide variety of tasks related to organization and communication. Lindsey holds an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and is a Certified Medical Assistant.
